These terms cover the public demo on thecashprice.com. The service for plans is covered by a separate written agreement.

What the demo is

The Cash Price is a public demonstration run by Elrond Health Inc. (Rivendell). It shows, for a medical service and a US zip code, three highly rated providers, the cash price with its source and date, and the earliest confirmed availability. It is informational. Using it creates no account and no agreement for care.

What the prices are

Prices are posted or phone-confirmed cash prices from the named sources on the dates shown. The provider's quote at booking governs. A posted price comes from a published self-pay list, an MDsave listing or a hospital's machine-readable file, with the source and the date we read it. A phone-confirmed price shows the date of the call. Medicare amounts are shown for reference only and are never presented as the price. We do not show estimated or modeled prices. Every source is listed on the sources page.

What the demo is not

The Cash Price is not insurance, not a provider network, and not a discount medical plan or discount card. It is not medical advice.

It does not decide whether a service is covered by any plan. Members of a plan use the service through their plan, under that plan's documents.

Provider ratings

Provider names, ratings and review counts come from Google. A rating is not an endorsement or a recommendation by Rivendell, and we do not verify the reviews behind it. "No rating" is printed when Google has none.

Availability

Availability shown is either a date confirmed by phone, with the date of the call, or an offer to call the office for you. It is never an estimate. Call requests are worked by a person between 08:00 and 17:00 Mountain time on Oct 11, 12 and 13, 2026.

Acceptable use

The demo is for people looking up a price for themselves or for a plan they run. Do not scrape it, query it with scripts or bots, or resell its output. Rate limits apply: 20 searches an hour and 60 a day per device, and 5 call requests a day per phone number. We may block traffic that goes past them.

Text messages

If you enter a phone number, you receive one text about that result. The consent line reads: "By entering your number you agree to receive one text about this result. Reply STOP to opt out. Message and data rates may apply."

The service for plans

The service for health plans, third-party administrators, reference-based-pricing vendors and health shares is governed by a separate written agreement, including a business associate agreement before any member data. Nothing on this site forms that agreement.

Changes and limits

We may change or withdraw the demo at any time. We check each source on the date shown and cannot promise a provider still charges that price today. The demo is provided as is.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
